Catholic Hospital run like a factory to maximize executive bonuses, but structured like a church to avoid paying taxes.

Impressive Critical Care units. Competent Physicians. Tuition Reimbursement. Co-workers are okay, same as anywhere else.
Cons
The administration is completely out of touch with the clinical staff. Supplies/Staffing budget cuts coincide with demands for better patient care/satisfaction (upon which annual raises are based). Employee 'benefits' package is gutted by administration citing economic downturn, while top-level executive compensation packages skyrocket.

Pros
Faith based mission and medical staff seems very sincere in caring for patients.

NO employee parking ... takes 20 - 30 minutes to park and walk to my department. Minimal breaks with short meal break. Cafeteria has very few healthy options and is always slow.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback relating to your time at Mercy. We are sincerely concerned and apologize that we fell short on your expectations in some areas. Your helpful comments are much appreciated and your feedback will help us to continually improve the standard of how we operate moving forward. Healthcare is a crowded place, with many different options available to patients and their families – and today’s patients expect good health care wherever they may go. A full parking lot is a sign that patients are choosing Mercy based on the Mercy experience and as healthcare providers, we are following in Catherine McCauley's footsteps! If you have any additional feedback to share, we encourage you to email us at mercyrecruitmentfeed@mercy.net. We hope you have a blessed day!
