Pros
Amazing and supportive colleagues, wonderful students, Erie is an okay place, with some hidden gems. Wonderful Autism Initiative
Cons
An institution facing common challenges in higher ed, especially at smaller universities. Very tight budgets (& low salaries), reluctance to give any type of long-term contracts (often continual one-year renewals) and university administration can be challenging to work with, despite their friendliness. Senior administration did not feel the same need to belt-tighten was demanded of others, and was often not open to hearing faculty concerns, let alone helping to resolve them/taking them into account for requests. At my time working there, even COL raises hadn't been given in years. A PWI with good intentions and ethos but limited resources to undertake serious DEIJ work.
