I worked at Meredith Corporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Really enjoyed working in the Meredith Business Intelligence. Bosses are sharp, but kind and reasonable. Colleagues are collaborative and know what they are doing in their respective areas. Lots of interesting data and you are allowed and encouraged to do whatever you want to do with sufficient time. Super work-life balanced with 3 week vacation, summer hours, and flexible WFH.

    Cons

Compensation is at the lower end on the market and so employee retention is a problem.

I have been working at Meredith Corporation full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Being a big media company, Meredith has an open dialogue around diversity & inclusion.

    Cons

Since there are so many different factions of the company located all over the US it can feel a bit disjointed at times. There also is not a lot of talk about career growth in my department.

I worked at Meredith Corporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Meredith includes so many different fields you’ll have the opportunity to learn more outside your own wheelhouse. Many people have happily been there for years, especially the Des Moines group. This is one of the most stable jobs I’ve ever had. Excellent benefits and the best health program I’ve ever had the pleasure of participating in. I can only speak for the company culture in IA and CA and I found both to be very welcoming and inclusive.

    Cons

Pay seems based on the market in DSM, not really competitive for New York or Los Angeles. Salary growth is also slow so you’ll want to get a satisfying base salary because that’s the figure you’ll be seeing for a while which leads to the next con... Career growth is difficult. So many people have occupied their roles for years, there are very few vacancies after the intermediate level. The highest turnover I see is with younger employees, they put in a couple years and see minimal prospects and small salary bumps so they end up leaving. The ones who stay have to fight hard to finally get a promotion or a pay bump. But who wants to fight all the time?

I worked at Meredith Corporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Stakeholders gave employees the opportunity to grow in the company (formerly Time Inc.) and the benefits were very good.

    Cons

New hires should not expect the same salary with the acquiring of Time Inc. by Meredith.
