    Pros

In the trenches, you’ll be surrounded by fun, creative (but seriously overworked) people trying to do the best they can with fewer and fewer resources every year.

    Cons

Morale is in the tank and the corporate culture is toxic. Never ending layoffs drive a constant sense of fear and occasional tribalism. Management (all middle-age white guys) runs the place like an insurance company and is rarely open to true innovation. 50-60 hour work weeks are the norm, and generally expected. Lack of diversity in the Des Moines office is an embarrassment. Benefits are solid, but not nearly as competitive as management believes.

I worked at Meredith Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good work life balance. Enjoyed working there and would recommend to younger employees. Coworkers were friendly and great to work with.

    Cons

Corporate environment with little room for growth. Loyalty is a one way street for workers in their 50's. Dozens of my colleagues got laid off after working at Meredith for decades.

    Advice to Management

Don't tell your long-term employees how important they are and have been, and then fire them like they are an outdated product.
