    Pros

New employee orientation is amazing, never had so much information presented my first day before, everything from passwords, to policies, to clear explanation of benefits. Made getting started so easy!

    Cons

Can't really think of any cons at the moment.

I have been working at Meredith Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Collaborative, dedicated team and a positive work environment. Exciting projects on a day-to-day basis. Decent (albeit rather expensive) benefits and a full 2-3 weeks of vacation time.

    Cons

The difficult climate for publishing makes it hard to ask for or receive a raise. It’s easy to accrue extra responsibilities but rare to receive extra compensation. Upward mobility is stunted by frequent hiring freezes.

    Pros

Meredith is a great place to work. They care about their employees and offer various programs to make the workplace better. Great people! Great brands!

    Cons

Print and digital properties are very separate and it makes it hard to navigate integrated sales from either side. 20% of your goal is based on revenue that is out of your hands. Print spending is in decline and it makes for a stressful sales environment.

I have been working at Meredith Corporation full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

People are nice, not super competitive. Easy to make friends, and demands are minimal. Most people are in at 9 and out at 5.

    Cons

No opportunity for advancement once you’re out of the junior level roles. Senior level management continue to fail up. Executive management lays off thousands than gives themselves millions in raises a week later. It’s a company run by middle aged white men and it shows. We’re frequently told we’re all replaceable. We get it, but it’s not very motivating to be told over and over.

    Advice to Management

Stop touting Meredith as an innovative company and BE an innovative company. Offer flex schedules/telecommuting, have advancement opportunities for directors and above, stop reminding us we’re replaceable — we know, we hear you, but we don’t need to be told so often.

    Pros

Smart, savvy, collaborative colleagues with inventive ideas were a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

Top-heavy traditional male management with finance acumen focused on shareholder return, not employees.

    Advice to Management

Research proves the most successful companies have at least 50 percent female top managers.
