I have been working at Merge Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Extremely laid back environment where they care more about your productivity and job performance then they do what you look like, while staying professional at the same time. Many opportunities towards promotions and a larger income then expected by bonuses.

    Cons

Sink or swim mentality when it comes to their software, no real way to train hands on until you are given the opportunity to work with the customers hands on.

    Advice to Management

Need to come up with a way of teaching new employees that's more hands on then shadowing.

I worked at Merge Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None!!! Very ruthless uncaring company and people!

    Cons

Merge Healthcare acquired the company was working for (DR SYSTEMS) and the HR person just arrived yesterday and laid off a lot of people almost 25% of the staff.

Don't bother wasting your time with this horrible company.

They acquire companies and then lays off the people. They take the products that the other company develops and then tries to market it as their product and then they market as their product as try to say
they are best in KLAS the product/products.

    Advice to Management

You are very horrible people, you need to try developing your own products and try keeping the talented people from the companies you buy instead of taking credit for other companies and people's talent.

I have been working at Merge Healthcare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Merge Healthcare is a great company to work for. I work with a great bunch of people. My manager has done a great job in providing me feedback and support in a timely fashion. I was referred to this company through a friend and would suggest it to others as well. I had worked with Merge Healthcare as a customer and they had always showed great respect for their clients and were always professional. I also see that culture internally as an employee.

    Cons

I do not have any cons I can share at this time.

Lots of opportunity if you are willing to be worked to the bone

    Cons

Long hours, poor work-life balance, salary far below the average, lack of transparency to customers, company never met annual goals

I have been working at Merge Healthcare full-time

    Pros

Most employees are good at their jobs and are a lot of fun to work with. Company's product is very strong and should have a long and profitable future. Working hours are very loose. Some departments have a lot of autonomy.

    Cons

No concrete vision from management and power struggles in management result in a lot of collateral damage.

    Advice to Management

Rely on your employees. they are smarter than you think

    Pros

Location is perfect. Benefits are average. If you're half-way intelligent you can be successful here. If you have extremely low expectations, you'll love it. If you've not worked for a decently organized and resourced company - you'll think this is just fine.

    Cons

TURNOVER just doesn't stop but management doesn't seem to see it.
We continue to hire inexperienced managers and "VPs" with limited experience in managing teams and zero to no experience in our market or our products.
We're bottom heavy (specialists/leads/coordinators) and top heavy (VPs/Presidents); we're left with people that have 2-6 years experience running the show. What a joke!
HR? What HR? Training is still trying to get it together ... after at least 3 years.
Presidents of business lines are Inappropriate in every way but considered cute and charming, so it is OK.
Women are gawked at and hit on and called girls.

    Advice to Management

Will our leaders ever get with the program?
Great CEO but the majority of his reports are laughable and do not know how to build strategy or lead people.
It is far past the time to ramp up the talent level in Senior Management business leaders.
Get people in here who have the skills, expertise and interest to get the job done - not just those that can state a high-level vision and present once every few months, but those who can articulate key milestones to get it done while building and empowering their teams.

    Pros

Interesting industry with healthcare changes happening and lots of great customers.

    Cons

So unorganized, so many crazy happenings (like announcing the company was for sale and then not selling it) which made clients and employees nervous. It's a mess.

    Advice to Management

    Get new management.
