I have been working at Meridian Behavioral Health Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Co-workers are supportive and you are truly meeting a need for the community.

    Cons

Low pay, terrible benefits, completely out of touch leadership, staff are asked to do the impossible with less and less, insanely high caseloads with little support and very few options available for clients

    Advice to Management

Pay attention and quit blaming the former CEO. Take care of your employees and quit wondering why you are having such a hard time retaining folks....most recently you have recognized that it is across programs and services. Yeah, community mental health is hard. Yeah, behavioral health organization across the region and even country are struggling. Yeah, the system sucks. But my God quit setting yourselves up to...

I worked at Meridian Behavioral Health Services

    Pros

I really cannot think of any if you are someone that is serious about working in the addict's.

    Cons

Company is a sham. Lacks any moral character when it comes to running a alcohol and drug treatment center. Supervisors lack fundamental training and are allowed to build their own silo's of protection in the event an employee questions their integrity...there is no integrity until they show you the door. Lot of lip service. Clients left to themselves with no communication as to what is going on. Training was an absolute...

    Advice to Management

The Department of Health should come in and do a very thorough investigation on how clients are treated. I am not sure how the upper management can get away from running a company that is supposed to educate people who suffer from mental health issues and substance addiction with a straight face.

I worked at Meridian Behavioral Health Services full-time for less than a year

    Pros

This company expects a great deal in terms of time spent at the job. However, the job is rewarding in that you are going into folks homes to serve them with their mental health and/or addction challenges. Every day is different, every client has different needs, and every solution is individualized to the person.

    Cons

Field work can be frightening, foks are at different stages of recovery. The work is challenging, demanding, fast paced and can take a great deal of time away from your personal life. The company doesn't support their employees when they meet challenges that prove to be difficult and particularly if mistakes are made.

    Advice to Management

Support your people. Show them you care as much about them as you do the folks you serve. Provide care and understanding in the same way you do with people with mental health issues.
