I worked at Meridian Health Services full-time

    Pros

    PTO, flexible schedule, nothing else

    Cons

Like most jobs in mental health/ social work, the salary is meager at best. Work/ life balance laughable. Management is only concerned about billing Medicaid, not providing quality care to clients

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Meridian Health Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working with the clientele is really rewarding. There is ample opportunity to create your own program and go forward with your own ideas.

    Cons

The pay is really below industry standard. There doesn't seem to always be opportunities to advance within the company. Executive management is really disconnected from what happens on a day-to-day basis at the organization.

    Advice to Management

Listen to people who work at the bottom. Listen to your clientele.

I worked at Meridian Health Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Plenty training opportunities, although you will have to find your own replacement for your schedule.

    Cons

High turnover rate, even the managers. Not enough backup plans, will work short staff if someone calls in.

I worked at Meridian Health Services full-time

    Pros

health benefits and PTO time are great, the idea or mission is a great idea. next to easy food.

    Cons

    In summary
    no raises
    no respect
    no breaks
you aren't allowed to have friendships or "talk"
They make you do things you're uncomfortable with
you are replaceable and they make you very aware of it.
you will be singled out, they will make up reasons to write you up, and complain how you do your job with no training. a very high turn over rate, more than 20 providers quit in 1 week before the holidays if that tells you anything. went over a month and a half before being trained and others before me as well never got trained. they got angry at me for not doing the job they way they wanted with no training, I got upset then half the department got trained, its then I realized employees before me had no idea what they were supposed to do either. managers will talk to you as if you're 5 years old and act childish when addressed with an issue they have to fix. oh and don't get sick or need time off, because it's likely they will replace you and not tell you. you won't actually get breaks either, they don't want you to have relationships with co workers, talking is a no no. oh and the biggest bomb of all, they give NO RAISES, and talk about a bonus that you have no idea how much it is and it's once a year. not worth having no raises. very few people worth talking to there. they have private parking for you but what they don't tell you, is that it's only for management. all the people in my department were all new by within the same hire date as myself. I did think this was strange when I got on.

    Advice to Management

give an incentive for your employees to stay. when your managers have a problem with an employee how about talking to them like a person. many employees had no idea why they had work either taken away from them or why they where in trouble or felt it was unjust.

I have been working at Meridian Health Services  (More than a year)

    Pros

Great coworkers and incredible clients to work for! The work is fulfilling and interesting.

    Cons

Administration promotes a factory mindset. Client care is a distant second to amassing as many billable hours as possible. If you don't buy in to this mindset or, god forbid, come up short on productivity, your job is subject to a rigid "three strikes and you're out" policy which covers any and all mistakes within your job expectations. Development and training are rarities with the aforementioned expectations being the focus of management. An "Us vs. Them" environment in which feedback on policy is discouraged is being cultivated.

    Advice to Management

Sure, it's a business, but please try and remember what the focus of the work is.
