    Pros

We have an AMAZING core staff and an AMAZING leadership team. We are always working together as a team! When you ask a team member to do a task they all go above and beyond what is asked of them from care staff to culinary to housekeeping to maintenance to front desk! I feel we have a #DreamTeam at Meridian of West Hills!!

    Cons

We can use a new Salon for our residents to make them handsome and pretty!!

    Advice to Management

Not much we and they are so caring and compassionate and really cater to the needs of the families and residents!

I worked at Meridian Senior Living full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I loved starting off on the MC side! It was an amazing experience that has raised me to a brand new person that I never thought I could be. Yes at times it was very trying on everything in your core, because it's new and unfamiliar, but once the storms had passed, and memories flew in, it was absolutely amazing!

    Cons

The staff that has now been fired was very unprofessional. They would schedule you to work 2-3 days in a row and only come in late by 3-4 hours for your new shift. My shift was evenings and i very often got called in to do NOC shifts because we were so short staffed. Training was NOT taken seriously and become a major problem when elders started getting mishandled and abused by people who only saw them as a paycheck.
Things and health regulations where not in check up until inspection came down.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people that genuinely care and not just some joe shmo off the street that needs a job and a quick hire. I loved my residents and when I was terminated because of un just causes and saw how much more down hill the meridian i was stationed at got, its just down right heart breaking.

    Pros

Upper echelon of corporate management is very genuine in their philosophies, business plan, and intention for the company as a whole. WOW Culture is amazing in theory; and given the right resources...do-able.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations placed on community leadership teams to accomplish expected workload and to accomplish WOW culture with very limited resources. While not necessarily intentional, many leaders are set up for failure.

Regional team holds community accountable; however, does not hold themselves accountable to the support they offer.

Scapegoats are used as needed! Six EDs let go in same region within 4 months?!? Hmm?

    Advice to Management

Penny wise and pound foolish is not a sound long-term game plan. Stop placing band-aids. Get to the root cause and invest properly of time, resources, and money when necessary.

    Pros

    They are good at selling.

    Cons

Very unorganized company, does not support it's current staff. There is turn over staff constantly. They talk about values and ethics but do not hold true to it. The pay is minimal, benefits and raises are sometimes. When you need help or support, there is none available. Corporate talk in circles, they are good at talking but there is no follow up actions, so nothing gets taken care of. They have favoritism in their ranks, and are close working friends. If you need to talk to anyone about problems within the company, there is no one available. They talk about putting the residents first but do not focus on the well being of all the encompasses the residents and their family.

    Advice to Management

Work on building a foundation for your company that is textbook for all buildings, then look to grow more and break ground. It does not work to add more buildings if your structure within the company is poor.

    Pros

    Loved the residents so much

    Cons

Management talks about each other like high school kids and care more about the gossip in the building than actually working. Corporate came in to help, i was thrilled! Turns out he was only there to make fun of employees and management and offered no guidance what so ever. I have never felt so bad about myself.
