I have been working at MeridianLink full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Work life balance is good; never received any push back for taking time off.

    Cons

When I started a few years ago, it was pretty obvious that there was massive room for advancement. Anyone who had worked here for at least 5 years was in some type of management or leadership position. Following the acquisition by a private equity firm and merger with another entity in mid-2018, that no longer appears to be the case. It is extremely difficult to transfer to another department and it is apparent that...

    Advice to Management

Honestly, there's not much they can do at this point. They are on a path towards another private equity investment in the next 5 years or an IPO. It's no longer a scrappy startup company; it's a corporate firm with multiple layers of bureaucracy and management that are primarily accountable to the board, not to the customers/clients.

I have been working at MeridianLink full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Job demands and work-life balance are reasonable Training is great and questions are readily answered by other staff members (I have a highly technical job with almost no experience in the field prior to employment - this might differ by department though) Benefits package is great Starting pay is fair and hard (but smart) work is rewarded consistently and fairly Upper management seems to truly care, not only about the...

    Cons

Clients can be demanding, but this is hardly the company’s fault Sometimes communicating with developers regarding client needs is difficult

    Advice to Management

Cross-training/interdepartmental communication should be emphasized more so that we are all on the same page

    Pros

A great work/life balance, you really get to leave work at work. The culture is unlike anything I've seen before. There's so much creativity and uniqueness throughout the office; Food all the time and options galore; Executive Management knows you by name; Work hard, play hard by definition. Endless learning and mentoring opportunities which really grows you as an individual and professional. Everyone has an open...

It's always busy, but it's technology so is that necessarily a bad thing? Somewhat below the curve in salaries but puts forth effort to make up for it in other ways.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. Never lose who you are as people and as leaders

I have been working at MeridianLink full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Strong company culture and feels like a family -Senior management is dedicated to the company -Several team building events and competitions that get a lot of people involved -Good healthcare/dental/vision package -Work/life balance is excellent; you are not expected to stay overtime or take anything home with you -The people work very hard and want to help others on their team succeed -We value our clients tremendously...

-Salary below industry standard (especially with cost of living) despite management's claims. Look at Glassdoor to make up your own mind -Limited vacation (2 week PTO, 3 week after 5 years) -Good strategy and vision need to be set and actually followed -Values need to come from this strategy and vision, not the other way around -Office politics between departments often delays projects and potentially outright kills...

    Advice to Management

Be clear about your reasoning behind strategy and goals and then empower your employees to make meaningful decisions to achieve those goals. Also give them the tools they need. The "growing pains" of the company I experienced in my first year here are still here and the response has been to throw more bodies at the problem rather than fix the underlying cause. Trust the good people you hire to do the work. I will...

    November 13, 2017Recruiting Manager

Glassdoor can provide good information, but it isn't a salary tool. People self-report and may inflate their salaries in hopes of driving up the published salaries for their positions. To my knowledge, there is no verification done on what's reported. (I have seen salaries posted ...

I have been working at MeridianLink full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Please Note: This is a great place for developers. My “Cons” section does not represent the Developers or SDCs . Other roles, be cautious. - Many great managers who truly care about employees! (Below VP level) - Health Care is pretty decent - Experience for building a resume - Waffles and Lunch once a month - Organized events - Good work-life balance

    Cons

I find it very disheartening that MeridianLink respondents would not denounce the way a current employee talks about previous employees- “naysayers … never gave the company a chance and brought down morale with their negativity”. This shows a lack of integrity exemplifies the MeridianLink culture of “You’re with us or You’re the Problem”. Sometimes people are not a culture fit, sometimes they are mistreated. This moved...

    Advice to Management

Start addressing issues within the executive management ranks. Empower the managers to do their jobs and run their teams. Computer Science degrees are not a replacement for hard work. Pay people fairly and treat them with respect, or they will just continue to leave. I hate watching good people continuously walk out the door (especially lately). The people who left were not the problem, the problem still exists and people...

I have been working at MeridianLink full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Health insurance is good - Work-life balance is what you make it - Once a month waffles and company lunch

    Cons

    - Poor communication from upper management - Must be in a position for 2 years before you can move to another team - even for support. No real career paths with meaningful advancement - Does not feel like we are all on the same team - Doesn't feel like they truly care about employees - Benefits are slipping - People are leaving for better opportunities/environments/pay/benefits

    Advice to Management

Truly listen to employees before the good ones are gone. Even the salad bar tried to quit this week. The values are good, if we really try to work by them.

    I worked at MeridianLink full-time

    Pros

MeridianLink is an established name in the loan origination and credit monitoring business; an old player masquerading as a start-up in the financial sector. With an impressive client portfolio and strong products, MeridianLink has been winning for a long time, and you've never heard of them. I attribute this partly to a personable and humble leadership that has created a family atmosphere that permeates throughout its...

    Cons

Vague mission statements and uncertain roadmaps mean employees need to look for their own motivation to work. The talent pool at this company is young, which means most of the staff is hungry to start making their mark on corporate America. But that juice only lasts so long, and more experienced employees and managers depend on leadership to steer the ship. Oh, and the lack of a 401K match is kinda weak as well.

    Advice to Management

Clear company goals need to be trumpeted often and loudly. The products themselves could stand to benefit from the experience of a product manager who can communicate the needs of the business, distill it into milestones and benchmarks, and oversee the different teams towards those goals. It will really help to know how a person like me is contributing to the bottom line instead of just feeling like we're shooting an...
