I worked at Merlin Entertainments part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Most coworkers are wonderful people and fun to work with. Work is not difficult to learn to do well. Free passes after 6 weeks of employment.

    Cons

Hourly wage is on the lower end and raises don't seem to be a thing. Many long hours of standing with very few breaks. Management seem to have limited understanding of what the workers' experience is like. Training is minimal (to put it mildly) so new hires need to rely on more experienced coworkers to clue them in on what they need to know. Management gives lip service to seeking employee input but is virtually unresponsive and no changes are implemented. Dress code is very rigid. There is an atmosphere of paranoia because 5 small mistakes in 3 months can lead to disciplinary action-- wearing the wrong color of socks too many times could theoretically lead to being fired, for example, regardless of actual job performance. Company is extremely money-oriented, with very, very close monitoring of every employee who handles cash. . . more than I ever saw in years of employment in various cashier/clerk roles.
