I worked at Merlin International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

engineering team was fun, worked on building a new web application for Department of Veterans Affairs from the scratch.

    Cons

it's a staffing agency. they get projects from another companies(sub contractors of government). they lose a project, you lose a job. there is nothing like performance review, 1-1 or any other meetings with management. basically nobody cares about your growth, it's only about selling you to another company for $$$$ and that is it.
I've been working in Vienna, VA, then they've got another project in Baltimore, MD and told me that I need to work there, I said that it's too far and I am not interested, then they said if you refuse we will let you go. Problem is solved $$$$$

    Advice to Management

There is no management. only $$$ in the eyes. people come people go.Start caring about the stuff, because they are humans.

Recent large pay cuts due to poor contract negotiations.
Management provides zero value to the employee.
Management does not care if they lose employees and revenue

    Pros

401k, health benefits, PTO, hands off management.

    Cons

Top heavy management. Recent 10%+ pay cuts to contractors due to poor contract negotiations. No one in management is concerned about what their employees actually do other than their job title and how much they can bill the client for it.

    Advice to Management

Respect the front line employees who are bringing in the revenue and share the wealth in a fair manner.

I worked at Merlin International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Employees are afforded the opportunity to have lunch daily. In addition they are allowed to take bathroom breaks when required and they are allowed to work within specified business hours.

    Cons

When i consider Merlin International, I recall that their Sr. and Mid-level management personnel are HOSTILE and unprofessional. I have never heard of a Sr. Vice President yelling, using profanity, and out right bullying employees in order to relive symptoms of PTSD. He is difficult to work with and his leaders are forced to follow him or be released.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that Senior Management exemplify ethical and professional standards.

I have been working at Merlin International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

In July 2016 I will have worked for Merlin for 5 years. This company has been one of the best companies I've worked for in my 26-year history of working for IT companies. Although I had never heard of Merlin before I started here because it was originally known as a more for being a Value Added Reseller of products, the recruiter made me feel so welcome and set the tone for the warm company culture. The company has considerably grown its IT services business and has an edge in the industry by being both. Although the CEO is based in the company's Headquarters office in CO, he makes it a point to visit our Vienna office. He personally welcomed me to the company and made me feel like my contributions were needed to help grow the company. He is always very kind and friendly. Merlin compensates their employees well for their contributions. The company pays well, has solid benefits including some telecommuting options, and invests in its infrastructure as needed so employees never face burnout. I would highly recommend Merlin to others.

    Cons

Increase marketing efforts to get Merlin's name more visible in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Continue to make the company culture inviting, exciting, and rewarding!

    Pros

The only Pro I can think of is Salary

    Cons

Communication is horrible. Employees are either fired or they quit constantly; Leadership refers to "shooting" people they want to fire or just kid rid of them. No structure, bad process, No communication with upper management. There is constant inappropriate behavior and cursing by top leadership. They don't value or care about their employees at all! The CEO is never wrong and doesn't allow his team to do their job without micro-managing them.

    Advice to Management

Value Your Employees, Be Truthful and change your Value Statement to reflect who you really are.

None, really. Wearing multiple hats has it's frustrations but it comes with the territory.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work
