    Pros

There's definitely growth within this career choice. It really teaches you the values necessary to succeed in this business. Overall good job

    Cons

Not much support for training. High hurdles and technology advancing has effected the business as a whole. Connections to wealthy individuals would be a definite plus .

I worked at Merrill Lynch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to work in financial markets. Hours are good. Depending on your branch good work environment. Merrill is the gold standard in PWM.

    Cons

Essentially pure sales. All they care about is business development. Unless you have a big network you can tap and actually want your career to be a financial advisor then don't go into WM. Unless you want to be like a financial planner on a team or something like that.

    Advice to Management

Figure out what you're doing when it comes to the TFA program. Every advisor treats it differently and has their own interpretation. You're failing to keep young talent around especially by making it harder for them to get their bonuses with the Cfp requirements when you already pay them such a low salary. And FAs don't want to pay their TFAs any PCs so either standardize that or make a minimum payment guaranteed.

    Pros

Education is one of the main things that is stressed here. Be attentative and you will be very successful in your career

    Cons

Hard work is something that they really implement and sometimes this can make things challenging but not unbearable if you

    Advice to Management

    Be more lenient

I have been working at Merrill Lynch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great pay for fresh undergrads
Breadth and depth of resources available due to BofAML's immense scale and research platform

    Cons

Little social interaction both in and outside the office, and limited interest to do so
Culture of mentoring can be improved
    Long hours and stressful environment
Regulatory burden and uncertainty is a huge overhang

    Pros

Worked with great people and great clients. Learned a lot about the wealth management business. Top technology and continued education. Good benefits as well.

    Cons

Large company. A lot of time spent finding the right person to speak with to get things through the approval process. Position was more administrative in nature than what i was looking for. Hopefully you can get placed with a good team/advisor otherwise you will not be happy.
