I have been working at Merrill Lynch full-time

    Pros

Will give base pay to get License out of the way.
    Good benefits

    Cons

Based off performance with no resources. Have to pay for leads or events makes it really hard in beginning.
Also seems as though Merrill Edge is the way the company is leading sales into.

    Advice to Management

Have a BDA for new hires that is for promotions or leads.

    The people are great.
The resources for clients are some of the best in be industry.

    Cons

Production goals are relatively aggressive, especially in smaller markets.
Banking products offered by Bank of America are difficult to get people To by into if you are "out of market" or don't have a banking center near

    Pros

Good benefits. Pay for Series 7 and 66. Good hours, never really overtime. Additional compensation from your advisors if they are generous. Many locations.

    Cons

Absolutely no career development. Monotonous tasks. Glorified assistant. Dead end road job. Could be very little pay if your advisors aren't generous. Absolutely do not recommend if you are not looking for an administrative role. A lot of paperwork. A lot of compliance rules. Little to no training.

    Advice to Management

Management should do a better job with finding out a Client associate's expectations before matching them up with multiple individual advisors or a team of advisors. Management should also care more about their employee's needs and career development rather than hitting their numbers.
