I have been working at Merrill Lynch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good 401k plan and health benefits

    Cons

Extremely stressful, many many office politics, despite being a big company the employees are severely underpaid and over worked in comparison to other financial firms. I've seen many CA's leave the firm for higher paying firms.

    Advice to Management

    Invest more in your employees

    Neutral Outlook

    Pros

Industry leading training program. Good stable technology system. Great work locations and most con workers have a great deal of experience

    Cons

Competition between edge and other discount brokerage firms. Merrill arrogance is growing and will become a bigger problem if not stopped

    Advice to Management

Too much in the way of compliance that isn't necessarily mandated by the sec or finra. Far too many mandates to train on which are usually inapplicable and waste time.

    Pros

At Merrill Lynch there are some really smart motivated people. Lots of hard work, but the hours were not bad at all, and even though it was wealth management you still received many perks as a fully time employee.

    Cons

I was working on a somewhat of a smaller team. I felt restricted in many ways considering I do not have many licences to sell many of the products, but they help you get them. I wish they gave me more work. but nothing really bad to say.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing
