I have been working at MetLife full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

MetLife is a fabulous company to work for that walks the walk. The department I work in really believes in work-life balance. I believe we are compensated fairly and there is always room to move to different positions.

    Cons

They took away our HMO option.

I have been working at MetLife full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    401k, PTO, Annual bonus,

    Cons

glass ceiling, favoritism, lies from management regarding promotions to unworthy candidates, poor communication with upper management. Work overload. No work/life balance. Focus on metrics with disregard for employee happiness. Forced daily overtime due to work load. forced nights and weekends. poor communication between departments. Poor opportunity for advancement as they will collude with selected employees resign so they may be immediately re-hired as "outside hires." It's simply smoke, mirrors, and lies at every turn.

I worked at MetLife full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Work-life balance and benefits among the best. However, their 401K match could be better (higher than 4%).

    Cons

While continually working to implement business and technical improvements, the constant, ever-changing work environment and processes lend to inconsistent and confusing management styles and direction.

I worked at MetLife full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great Cary facilities. Pockets of good leadership

    Cons

I was an employee for 4 years. Silo culture, favoritisms, Inflexible management regarding remote work, work life balance and openness to new ideas, constant reorgs, ongoing unannounced staff reductions. HR inaccessible HR team. No action on employee surveys.

    Advice to Management

The Cary buildings are nice but it should not mean that your employees HAVE to be in office! This is not where the rest of the world is headed. Reduce favoritism, and remove leaders who are engaged in this behavior.
