I worked at Metals USA full-time

    Pros

Great benefits program. Safety is truly number one priority

    Cons

Management currently doesn't agree with giving raises. Didn't have a performance evaluation in over 4 years. Management in Torrington facility spent too much time promoting one person. Largest customer represents a year over end dying industry. The bubble will pop on these successes. General Managers overworked and not future thinking. All of this leaves your career to rot. You can find better. Don't waste your time.

    Advice to Management

Let your Managers do their jobs and steer the ship. Enable your employees careers and give people opportunities instead of thinking your the only reason the company exists. Less time behind closed doors favoring one staff member.

I have been working at Metals USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are amazing. The insurance package alone is worth it. Supervisors are very accommodating. I definitely recommend applying if you have the skills.

    Cons

I can't really say there's a con, aside from the morning shift starting at 5am, but that's not really a con. Just means you get off at 1:30pm
