Pros

Working at MeteoGroup means working with pleasant and eager colleagues. The niche weather market presents many opportunities and even more different types of innovative uses of weather data. Nearly every market is somehow related to the weather. My manager motivates me to make a difference and I believe I can. I also get time to work on new use cases on the Friday afternoons. The recent investments in the technology department mean technical innovation is also happening

Cons

The company is in a phase of transition, which requires flexibility. The office location in Wageningen is a bit remote, especially by public transit.

Pros

There are plenty of opportunities for European travel and the accommodation allowance is good. MeteoGroup has a strong brand presence Nice offices and easy to get to

Cons

The company in recent years since the takeover has become all about numbers. There is little trust between colleagues brought about by micro-management from senior managers who are in a panic. The amount of reporting for the sake of reporting beggars belief. A number of high profile appointments to key positions have yielded nothing which has piled further pressure on those that know what they're doing. A number of colleagues have already left to other industries or competitors and some have been made redundant. Morale is low and many are looking outside for other opportunities. The company has gone from being a happy place where everyone pulled together in the same direction to a place where some staff think that the way to get on is to talk behind backs and point fingers at others.
