      Horrible Work Environment

      Pros

      - honestly, none. There is little incentive to working as runner, because there is zero upward mobility. They just want you to bring their clients champagne till 3am so their viagra ad can be better, even though they’d already finished work on the ad.

      Cons

      - toxic work environment - sexual harassment - overworked - underpaid - I have trauma I’m still working through thanks to Method/CO3 - We’d be wasting our time early into the morning servicing clients that didn’t need to be there. They were just trying to party; all work has been finished. This led to no sleep which led to resentment and low job satisfaction.

      - not much work to do, short contracts. It's a pain to get a contract extension as company always don't know what will be tomorrow

      Pros

Fun projects and lots of OT

      Cons

Company has gone through 3 leadership changes and all have the same clueless direction. Fix the pipeline, it's 10 years old. Get better standards for production, artists have lives too

Jun 26, 2019 - Production Technical Service Technician in Santa Monica, CA

      Pros

Do an outstanding job and your name can get in movie credits. Great foot in the door experience. Two kitchen areas where they stock a wide variety of coffees and snacks. The building is pleasant to walk around in and look at Company get-togethers were always fun since there is a stocked bar, board games, an upstairs patio, and kitchen.

      Cons

Work was either overly fast-paced or overly slow Bummed when you didn't get your name in credits lots of "politics" when certain decisions that can affect your job are made they are very hesitant to hire you full-time, promote you, or give you a raise super-secret projects cannot be named in resumes which don't allow you to prove you did work unless they phone your boss and they tell your next potential employer that you did the work parking is VERY bad. public transportation is recommended (they have hulu bikes out front to help) too many deadlines leading to too much overtime. nice for income bad for work-life balance

Seriously consider your options before applying here and if you do get everything in writing first

      Pros

People are friendly The artists who are there are very knowledgeable Free coffee and cereal/ bagels in the mornings Work can be interesting... although not recently with all the recent rounds of layoffs. Benefits for staff if you can get it.

      Cons

Upper management is horrible. They don’t understand what they are requesting of artists most of the time or the timing required to complete the assigned tasks. When Artists are asked to give eta’s they disregard entirely. People are friendly but only because it’s a corporate environment. You’re not supposed to show emotion. When a ridiculous request comes through last minute (Which happens most weeks, especially around Friday evening do to pour planning) you’re expected to smile into overtime with no complaints. (No work life balance) HR department is completely useless to go to for help and or advise. There is no appreciation for the employees. The company cares more for its clients then the people that work for them and it clearly shows. Most departments are being outsourced. Larger management teams. Smaller working teams No room for upward growth. Once you’re locked in on your contract there’s little to no chance of changing it. The famous line is “be patient it’s coming” with no eta on when and very vague answers to any real question you may have. With all the lay-offs the ones who are remaining are expected to pick up the slack of all the missing employees. With no title change or compensation adjustments. It is also Extremely difficult to get work for a demo reel.

      Pros

Brilliant team of artists and production staff.

      Cons

There are some old mindsets, clique-like groups that do not foster a sustainable and healthy work culture. Upper management should not be reluctant to address.

I've worked here for 4 years. Not a place I would return to.

      Pros

Great team. Some good projects. Good facility. Some nice people here and there.

      Cons

lies fed to employees in studio meetings. big projects turned away because it doesn't fit the brand. Artists and production staff let go from team to make a higher margin. Urinals always overflowing. Food truck operators caught sharing homophobic ideology still scheduled by studio. More craft service people than actual artists at this point. Off-site parking 20 to 30 minutes away depending on train crossing or traffic. Not many food options close by.
