I have been working at MethodFactory full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great people. Great clients. Constantly evolving solution ecosystem. Flexible hours/venue for responsible team members. Learning/demo lab, vendor training, internal proofs of concepts. No nonsense (pro and con?). BS won't fly.

    Cons

Management sides with client to a fault - which can mean developers/company may have to eat crow. No nonsense (pro and con?). BS won't fly.

    Advice to Management

Take more risk. Don't be afraid to step outside the box/

I have been working at MethodFactory full-time

    Pros

Team environment, newest technology, really smart people

    Cons

Not the place for cruisers - if you call that a 'con'. I read the other reviews from former employees that couldn't make it, and if you're a clock puncher that doesn't want to work hard learn grow, and do what ever it takes to exceed customers expectations - get a job at the county.

    Advice to Management

    Hire slow - fire fast

I worked at MethodFactory full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

free sodas? plenty of company-sponsored events after hours.
    yearly bonus, but see below

    Cons

no work life balance. no work life balance. no work life balance.
    extremely high layoff rate.
no compensation for long hours. Yearly bonus won't make up for overtime.
    arrogant management doesn't take advice.
entrenched ineffective long term employees that can do no wrong. all others are and will be expendable.
extremely poor client management of expectations.
poor management expectations and little deep knowledge of the industry they service.
poor management insight to worker daily challenges

    Advice to Management

you hired professionals, right? listen to them.
every professional employer and agency in the tampa bay area knows about your company's reputation and they all have the same things to say about this place as the above comments. time to swap out upper management like you swap out employees.

I worked at MethodFactory full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free snacks and drinks. There are some nice people working there.

    Cons

A couple of the partners are unprofessional and goof around alot. You don't get any feedback on how you're doing until it's too late. There's no formal review process and no reviews are done in writing. Atmosphere is unprofessional and it's a hard place to work as a new employee.

    Advice to Management

Stop making fun of clients and employees. Put a formal review process in place. Make sure the long term employees are working as hard as you expect everyone else to.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at MethodFactory full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free soda, coffee, snacks, etc. You might get to work on some of the newest MS development products

    Cons

Consistently overworked (+60 hrs/week) and not reimbursed for time worked. Extremely poor project time estimates.

    Advice to Management

Ditch the my way or the highway mantra. Reimburse your hard working people through comp time. Developers and Project Managers are expected to "makeup" the time (on their own time) and keep the project on schedule. You cannot expect to keep talented people treating them this way. Many people are leaving because of this "sweat shop" mentality that you are practicing.
