I worked at Methodist Health System - NE and IA full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work 24 hours per week and get full time benefits. Health insurance was reasonably priced and pretty good coverage.

Work every third weekend. Supervisor showed favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. They have good suggestions.

I have been working at Methodist Health System - NE and IA part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great company
    Good benefits
    Very upbeat and positive atmosphere
Management has always been very approachable and open to new ideas
Furthering education and advancing through the company has always been strongly encouraged and supported.

    Cons

Working overnights or off hours at a clinic (such as urgent care hours), the needs of the staff are sometimes overlooked or not well-considered. Seems like an out-of-sight-out-of-mind mentality.

    Advice to Management

Give a little more consideration to the employees working the odd shifts, hours when management does not usually work; even if that means working those shifts yourselves on occasion, just to see how things are progressing and what a typical night looks like with regards to workload. It can be a bit overwhelming when an employee feels as though they are overworked and not receiving support from their managers.

    Pros

The company itself does try to abide by 'the meaning of care' slogan. Decent benefits. Flexible schedule.

    Cons

In the billing office there is not online resources system so you learn to do your job based on who you make friends with. There is a lot of bullying by leads directed at the workers directly below and that trickles down to co-workers so it can become very easy for you to become 'the black sheep'. However, I have seen the management do the same thing to leads so maybe if that stopped leads would become better to the people underneath them.

    Pros

Very well run company. Administration is very responsive to employees, benefits are excellent, you can work as much or as little as you want - very flexible. Overall an great company to work for.

    Cons

Some managers are less than friendly but this can be found anywhere.

    Advice to Management

Some managers are condescending and unhelpful, especially to MAs, triage, NPs. Managers need a little more training on good interpersonal skills and have empathy for those who they work for.

I worked at Methodist Health System - NE and IA full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Coworkers are great. It's a nice place, and the physicians are generally easy to work for. Sometimes drug reps bring lunches in which is a huge benefit.

    Cons

Expected to perform flawlessly while short staffed. No raises or room for advancement. It's very easy to get written up.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your staff. It's a great hospital, but it's nothing without the little people.
