I have been working at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare full-time

    Pros

If upper management followed their core values, it would be a great place to work.

    Cons

Constantly understaffed and very slow to approve new positions. Management is very reactionary and doesn’t plan well for the future.

    Advice to Management

Take care of employees by being fully staffed to provide the best patient care.

I have been working at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Scheduling is flexible. We input the shifts that we wish to work during a given scheduling cycle. Overtime hours are often available. The pay is competitive and the benefits are above average.

    Cons

I don't really have any cons to give. I've been with Methodist for 5 years and I still enjoy working there. No workplace is perfect all of the time but the culture at Methodist makes the imperfect times bearable.

I have been working at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent choice for young individuals interested in health care professions who need clinical experience prior to applying! You will learn from some of the best Emergency Physicians that Memphis has to offer!

    Cons

You work 12 hour shifts, both days and nights in any given week. You are not paid more for working night shifts, unlike most staff working at the hospial. You are highered as an Indepedent Contractor and are therefore an Associate of Methodist Healthcare not an employee. Compensation after taxes makes it nearly impossible to live indepedently and afford cost of living.

    Advice to Management

Hire scribes that work full time as employees, not independent contractors. Individuals that put in full-time hours working for the hospital's phsicians deserve the some form of benefits and pay differentials that other full-time employees receive.
