I have been working at Metro Bank (US) full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The pros are the great people I met and learned from. Benefits are pretty good and the paid vacation is more than some companies.

    Cons

The pay is lower for the size of the company. They don't have normal bank hours. Only 4 paid holidays a year. And as of February 2016 they sold to another bank, so many back office people won't be able to keep their jobs.

I have been working at Metro Bank (US)

    Pros

The employees are great people, friendly. Management is helpful when they have the time. All employees are very helpful, and will learn tasks outside their titles to be able to help.

    Cons

The compensation is low. The opportunities for advancement is also limited. Branches are often short-staffed.

I have been working at Metro Bank (US) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great people to work with, nice offices and good benefits. You learn a lot in a small amount of time so very good if you're wanting to enter the world of banking/finance and getting experience. Growing bank meaning amazing opportunities for promotion for almost any department you may want.

    Cons

The targets for contact centre staff can be ridiculous, especially when were expected to deal with every query in a certain amount of time. Can be very high pressured and in the contact centre, the turnover is high which is demotivating. Very poor work life balance as you will be expected to work weekends and late shifts/super early shifts. Terrible pay for the amount of work you're expected to do. There can be a... lot of favouritism and some managers are incompetent.

    Advice to Management

Care about your staff, especially the customer facing ones. They are the culture of the bank and they are not appreciated enough. Higher pay, better incentives.
