I have been working at Metro Medical Equipment full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment good pay rates owners truly care about there company and their patients.

    Cons

Takes along time to get home from work from Livonia

    Advice to Management

Take care of associates and they will. Take care of your company

    Pros

I enjoyed working with most of the employees.

    Cons

Need to have more benefits (such as allowing employees to leave for appointments if it is only for 2 hours and not have to take a half a day). Might help with people not calling off of work.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to trust their employees to tell them what might be going on with the company. Your employees know their jobs and might have some input as to what might make things work better since they are the ones that do the job every day.

    Pros

Only pro are the hours - 8 am to 5 pm

    Cons

Medical benefits are for the employees only - no family benefits available. Also, benefits are based on age which are very costly. Must take a 1/2 day personal/vacation day to leave 1/2 hour or even 15 minutes early. Senior management does not entrust employees/even managers to make business decisions and are very difficult to get a hold of (which is often) to make decisions. Senior management tends to pit managers against each other which causes a lot of tension in the office. Management is afraid to make decisions in fear of getting a "severe talking to (screamed at in front of employees)" from senior management. My favorite was when we were told that we would not be getting our paychecks on our payday because there was a "glitch" in the system......this actually happened a couple of times. Also, no one is allowed to celebrate anyone leaving (moving on to other employment), babies, etc......was told it causes to much tension in the office.

    Advice to Management

Please take some anger management classes. Also, employees should not have to give a two week notice to get a raise......would be great to do some team building courses for your employees. Entrust the people you hire, and entrust the managers that you have....they really work hard.

I have been working at Metro Medical Equipment full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This company is very welcoming and offers competitive pay, they are willing to train you and encourage you to learn as much as you can as quickly as you want/are able to. When I received an invitation to interview I was skeptical because of some reviews on here, but it has proven to be a great experience. The management is also very appreciative which is a nice change of pace from most businesses.

    Cons

I can't quite think of any, other than the fact that they are currently trying to switch systems / are transitioning from handwritten orders to computer orders which leaves lots of work to do.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing!

I worked at Metro Medical Equipment full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very busy, and there is always something to do. This is due to the lack of employees. The long term employees are over worked with their need to over compensate because of this.

    Cons

There is no formal training and there are no policies or procedures in place for anything. Managers are very indecisive about tasks that need to be done and they rude and condescending to employees when assigning them. There is no room for growth here, and the benefits are a disgrace. The turn over rate of employees is very high do to poor management.

    Advice to Management

Managers need to have a real managerial background. If you're going to have them in these positions, then send them for additional training. Employees should be assigned to only one manager and know their duties in a concise and consistent manner.

I have been working at Metro Medical Equipment full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Management has an open door policy and encourages employees to bring any issues to their attention. There are many employees who have worked with the company for 10+ years and are happy. Management is great about training and promoting within.

    Cons

Every company has some cons... to say this one doesn't, would not be realistic. The biggest hurdle the company is facing currently is the transition from an old operating system to a new one; going from manual processes to mainly electronic processes. As with any company facing such a huge under taking, frustration occurs. Managment is very aware of this and is taking appropriate precautions, such as training, extra staffing, etc., to keep frustration at a minimum.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving forward, every day is bringing new growth and positivity for the company as a whole!

I have been working at Metro Medical Equipment full-time

    Pros

Good group of co workers, flexible with work schedule, competitive pay.....

    Cons

Everyone is over worked to the point of burning out....Company has never replaced former employee's positions, leaving most of the office staff to do the work of literally 2 or 3 people....The general way the office is run is consumed with ridiculous redundancies, and is micro managed beyond belief.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the employees that bust their behinds everyday and I guarantee the Merri Go Round with filling positions will cease to exsist. Assign people tasks , get off they're rear ends and let them accomplish them, and the toxic office environment will dissappear.

    Pros

I would say this is a very stressful place to work. It is not a team. It is management barking orders and lots of drama.

    Cons

Just about everything about this place is a con. Management is horrible and they are all related, so you can't win no matter which department you speak with. All of the office ladies are not looking to help as a team.

    Advice to Management

Take management classes. Learn how to treat your employees. Help the few customer service reps you have left.

    Pros

I really can't even think of a pro, other than I no longer work there. Actually, the CEO is very nice but I'm just not sure he realizes how much the management is destroying the company.

    Cons

Management is very manipulative & screams at vendors & employees. They are very condescending to employees & controlling. This was the worst company I have ever worked for.

    Advice to Management

The CEO needs to not have upper management working out on the floor with employees or dealing with the vendors.
The gossiping & back stabbing is horrible amongst management. The upper management is so unprofessional & worry more about having employees sign policies like"no graffiti in the bathroom" rather than actual policies that pertain to procedures needed to do the job.
Appreciate your employees & treat them with respect!
