I have been working at Metro by T-Mobile full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have to begin with the CEO’s Tom Keys and John Legere, they are rock stars! They bleed Purple and Magenta! They shower you as an employee with perks and all sorts of benefits. T-Mobile is truly revolutionizing the wireless industry and they don’t forget to acknowledge that it’s their people who help make that happen. There is absolutely plenty of opportunity for growth but that leads me to my only con for the company.

    Cons

Please, please, please make the transition for those of us trying to go from the Metro side of the organization to T-Mobile a much more smoother process. There have been plenty of us that work for Metro by T-Mobile retail stores requesting or applying to transfer to T-Mobile retail stores and have been unsuccessful after many attempts. It has now become the general belief among workers that T-Mobile retail stores don’t want those of us employed at Metro by T-Mobile working at their retail stores. The earning potential at T-Mobile retail stores is by far greater and we aren’t even being given a chance.

    Advice to Management

When you receive an applicant requesting to transfer to T-Mobile retail stores ensure Store Managers are looking at what that associate brings to the table as far as their skill set and how they can help that specific location achieve its goals and if he or she can contribute to the team. Truly look at what that associate has to offer and don’t pre-judge the associates because they are coming from the pre-paid brand of the company that they won’t be able to be successful in the post-paid world.

I worked at Metro by T-Mobile (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Discount on plan for employees
    -Commision based pay

    Cons

-Long days, most days are open to close. Typically 10 to 11 hour shifts, and no lunch breaks since you're typically the only one working the store.
-Unorganized, management scheduled me to open a couple times but didn't give me keys to open both times.
-Some popular Android phones were always out of stock, this depends on location, but hard to sell in locations that have very few phones in stock.
iPhones were very rarely in stock, no matter what location they hardly ever had iPhones in stock.

    Advice to Management

Organization and keep things in stock, hard to sell phones when you only have the phones no one wants to buy.
