I have been working at MetroPCS full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pays better than Mcdonalds, or Walmart. (Lol),

Theres pretty much next to nothing that is good about working as a sales manager or a sales rep for MetroPCS

    Cons

-Your working almost 55-60 hours a week, 10am to 8pm with low pay.

-Store Owners can be pieces of sht when it comes to small mistakes & will charge you for any mistakes even if they aren't taking a loss, they will charge you just because they can and have to somehow lower your paycheck so they can pay you less. Remember your commission is temporary, they can take it all away as long as your being paid minimum wage, they really don't care. (Just don't make any mistakes pretty much, they won't fire you but they will cover their loses for any mistakes from your pocket)

-No pay for Overtime because you will be on commission, and if your making lets say $7.25 hourly + Commission, if your overall average paycheck is $10.75 an hour, you will not be paid overtime (Hell, you wouldn't be paid overtime regardless, even though that is illegal, they will most likely fire you if they see you as a threat.)

-Store Owners can be downright abusive

-You will be working with 2-3 more employees per store, and if 1 customer walks in, you will have to either compromise with your team members to split up or make it a free for all style work area.

-You will have to rip people off, overcharge your customers so you can reach your sales goals, because otherwise, you will not be able to reach your goals as the stores are pretty much next to no profit and customers are always on a tight budget, as this is a budget phone company.

-If you feel any remorse for ripping people off that you know won't probably have money to fill up their gas tank for their car in a week, then this job isnt for you.

    - Locations will be placed in areas targeting African Americans and Hispanics, as these are the target demographics for sales in MetroPcs. You will need to be able to speak in both english and spanish.

To sum it all up, you will be responsible to Rip Poor People off by overcharging $20-50 just to make your commission goals even if you have to sell a $19 phone with a $30 Plan, you will most likely be selling that for $120-130 because customers are clueless and will not read the sign that is posted on every wall that says MetroPcs will not charge activation fees. To get around this overcharging, you will most likely give them accessories or bump up their plan and add useless features and blatantly lie in the customers face saying they can lower their monthly plan the following month. Locations are placed in ghetto areas in Houston, because its basically a budget money.

Avoid MetroPCS and look for a job that is the same hourly pay if you need.

Average pay for new sales rep is $7.25 to $7.50
Average pay for 6month to 1 year sales reps is $7.50-$8.25
Average pay for sales manager is $8.50 to 9.25

Plus commission, you can expect to make $9/hr as a new sales rep & 6months/1year sales rep
for managers you can expect to make $10-$12/hr
(This is all after taxes & only if your making commission at your location)

Comission will most likely cover the taxes being taxes from your paychecks, so if you want a simple math, what ever your hourly is, that is what your after-tax paycheck will look like.

Pay is okay but you can definitely find other jobs with similar pay and guaranteed paychecks.

This is pretty much a minimum wage job with long hours, if your up for it go ahead but it can be emotionally draining when you have to overcharge customers who are so nice and have a nice heart. (Not all but most customers will get to know you and will be attracted towards "their sales rep" and no other store or its sales reps.

    Advice to Management

    *Advice to Store Owners:

Care about your employees, they are the ones making your paycheck while you sit at home. Treat them like human beings, not trash. without those sales rep making sales and ripping customers off, your stores will not even function.

I worked at MetroPCS full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is pretty good but it comes at a price of selling your soul to the corrupt Telecom industry. You will never meet management that is more predatory, micro managing, divisive, and just plain evil. No loyalty only back stabbing.

    Cons

All of the above. The management at Metro SLC is a bunch of self serving narcissists. They are waiting for you to make a mistake so they can pounce and bury you. Corrupt and sick.

    Advice to Management

    GO to hell.

    Pros

The only reason I see any pros is because I was blessed with a hard working team and local management.

    Cons

It is horrible pay. They overwork you and your checks never add up correctly. They promise promotions and raises that never happen.

    Advice to Management

In Memphis, they only have authorized dealers so there is a lot of micro management. It is unnecessary and quite a nuisance to have so many different managers tell you conflicting information. You should just be very thorough with who you choose as local management and trust them with all company matters.

I worked at MetroPCS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. Great vehicle reimbursement program. Stable company. Great stock grants. 401k match, employee stock purchase program, employee discounts

    Cons

HORRIBLE culture, at least in my culture. Terrible corporate politics and gossip is encouraged. Human Resources is horrendous. They focus 100% on protecting the company and not the employee. Retaliation is allowed as well as employee sabotage. Worse company I've ever worked for. Totally not worth the money, at least in the market I worked in. Very immature place to work. You will regret working here.

    Advice to Management

Watch your market leaders. They are opening you up to lawsuits. Human Resources needs an overhaul. No protections for the employee and no due diligence is done before approving corrective action
