    Pros

Growing company best plans in the industry. great benefits, mediocre salary, poor commission plan, lots of training. Constantly changing trying to offer what the big boys do but at 50% of the cost. Overall they will do well long term IMO.

    Cons

Blind leading the blind it feels like sometimes.Corp office is very nice and smiley in front of you and then behind you, not so much.
They understaff you, expect you to conduct metro business on personal time, and micro manage you to death.
Poor compensation upon advancement. Everything is asked for quickly but provided slowly: Staff, inventory, supoort...you name it.

    Advice to Management

LISTEN to the people in the field!

    Pros

    Enjoy being outdoors
Being around good people you work with other than management
    Being your own boss
    Learning new technology

    Cons

    Micro management big time!
    Upper management not trusting employees
Wrong people that don't have district level capabilities/education (good'ole boy system)
Cheap with expenses when it comes to employee safety and concerns.

    Advice to Management

Current district level management with initials (SC) for overseeing Tampa Field Techs worst ever I have come across. No people skills or leadership what so ever.

    Pros

Benefits and bonus are good. Bonus was 10 to 15 of base pay

    Cons

Lot of little tyrants running around. Not unusual for "urgent" requests to come at 5:00 pm on a Friday evening. Line managers have little or no experience in management. Promotions rarely occur. Performance reviews based, not on performance, but whether or not the manager likes you. Was part of a department that was cleared out by firing 4 employees and driving 3 out. All were replaced by either Indian or Chinese developers. Despite all the charm exuded during employee meetings, CEO Lindquist views employees as people looking for ways to get his money.

    Advice to Management

    You're on your own sport

    Pros

Pays the bills and work with some interesting people. Industry technology is very interesting as is the marketing and advertising practices.

    Cons

Very poor managment. No true appreciation for employee's. Very secular and compartmental with regards to information and team work. Low morale in most area's.

    Advice to Management

Take time to actually manage and communicate with employee's. Half-baked and poorly planned activities need to stop. Encourage team work.

    Pros

    Full timers receive great benefits.
If you were previously compensated decently it will carry over
    contests with good prizes
Kickoffs that give food and prizes.
the team is usually young and agressive.
as long as you do what your said and just do your job. It can be pretty steady.

    Cons

    Part timers get crappy benefits
    always understaffed
    commission is horrible
    politics
    no guidance whatsoever
    management has alot of power
As a working student this job benefitted me. I have been with metro for a very long time. If you have to work here.. if not there are other jobs that I would take over this one. I wouldn't say run for dear life but you work for a low cost provider, get paid low wages, and as a result deal with lowly people... And one more thing GET USED TO SLAMMING!

    Advice to Management

listen to your employees sit down and hear what they have to say. Try and take care/reward employees.
