I have been working at Metrocare Services full-time

    Pros

The work conditions for which you are expected to perform prepares you for your next career opportunity. You quickly learn how to adapt to changes and uncertainty with ease.

    Cons

The company does not have any written procedures, so they are always changing unwritten rules/procedures. You are expected to complete your work in a timely fashion, but the process for which you need to follow is rarely clear. We work harder and not smarter at this company.

    Advice to Management

Replace senior leadership down. Get people in place who care about their staff and who is knowledgeable about the programs they manage. Competency should be a given...but its not.

I worked at Metrocare Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent health insurance and time off. If you have no interest in providing ethical and quality services, this jobs for you!

    Cons

Corrupt management and business practices. Anyone with ethics gets fired or leaves asap.

    Advice to Management

Try actually serving the clients and putting their needs before politics. It's been a horrible place to receive services and work for decades. And they are about the only provider for the indigent and poor who have no voice. It's disgusting!

    Cons

Turnover, falsifying documents by PM in LIDDA, stealing supplies, disclosing upper management documents, etc

    Pros

The service that Metrocare provides is top notch. Great at what they do. Leadership providing a quality place to work and interact with patients.

    Cons

As a non-Profit, salaries are low for the bulk of the workforce and growth is some what limited. Seems to be a bigger salary gap than should be between middle management and the front line workforce.

    Advice to Management

The workforce is what keep the organization moving forward and providing quality service. Distribute some of the salary down to the front line workforce reduce the earnings gap between middle management an the rest of the workforce.

    Pros

Enjoy the collaboration of working with stakeholders
Great entry level potion if you have no experience
Have learned a lot about mental health and substance abuse.
    Mileage reimbursement

    Cons

    Horrible Salary for experienced QMHP.
Upper management, middle management, and other professions dumps their responsibilities on you where you have no choice to do what ever they say and if you complain you are considered a problem more than a priority.
Wear and tear on your car if your are a field base worker.
Upper management keeps adding too much more responsibilities with out increase of pay.
Not enough money for the level of work
Benchmarks and performance setting keep on increasing where you feel the pressures from the demands of your position
Too Many trainings that make you do last minute.
    Raises are horrible.
You have to train new employees all the time because of the high turnover rate even though that is not your responsibility .
Metrocare is very scattered and disorganized organization
Metrocare make things more complicated .
The demands keeps adding up where you may give up or burnout
They make too many changes all at the same time.
It's hard to take vacations off even when your personal leave hours add up.
Ghetto office where there are roaches and mice in building.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your staff, if they complain about that the benchmarks and performance setting are hard to reach they are probably right. Stop adding more responsibilities to the QMHP'S workload it is frustrating. You need to improve the quality of life for the QMHP based in each individuals needs. Hire or promote mangers that are skillful and experienced instead of mangers that have no experience in management and are very coercive . The only thing way that things get done at Metrocare is with force....... It didn't use to be this way.
