I worked at Metrolink full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Easy work.
A lot of interacting with different personality types.
Work with a group of people who love to have fun at work.

    Cons

If you don't have seniority you get bad hours.
Customers can be abusive and violent sometimes.
Co-workers are lazy and don't do a lot of work and new people and interns have to work harder.

    Advice to Management

Please pay more attention to the people you supervise. Some of them aren't doing anything and are being recognized for hard work. Give raises to the ones that work hard.

    Pros

Good salary and great fringe benefits.

    Cons

Senior employees and managers do not accept responsibility for their *mistakes* despite signature review and approval and would rather throw their employees under the train.

    Advice to Management

Try to balance every negative comment with a positive one and instead of whipping a work-horse with last minute deadlines, allow employees to take 15 minute and lunch breaks.

I have been working at Metrolink (Less than a year)

    Pros

When I was interning a few years ago, it was an exciting time because I saw them implementing a variety of forward thinking technologies (GIS, GPS tracking, automated PA system, new train purchases). I was given opportunity to work with a variety of people in different departments and buildings as well.

    Cons

As an intern, it would have been nice to have discussed with someone the career paths available in the company......but maybe that should have been my responsibility as well.
