    Pros

    Very supportive work environment and I loved doing therapy with people.

    Cons

    Not many. I can't thing of any right off.

    Advice to Management

    Go to your contract workers first when a staff position opens up.

    Pros

    Very Flexible, Relaxed environment and a great place to work for a stepping stone. You receive a work phone and get compensated for milage.

    Cons

    Way to much paper work and meetings on top of all other requirement.

    Some areas of the company are great places to work. They provided support, empowerment and flexibility. The benefits are decent.

    Cons

    Family Works is a difficult place to work .

    Pros

    PTO and benefits package are unbeatable. Upward mobility is available to a certain extent (heavy weight given to degrees without regard to granting school - ie an online masters in tomfoolery from Trump University would still outweigh a bachelors in social work from Harvard in their eyes.)

    Cons

    Inefficiency abounds and unfortunately those consequences tend to fall to direct service employees. Inconsistency among supervisors is well known and recognized yet never addressed leading to employees in two identical positions having to completely different experiences.

    Advice to Management

    As staff are reviewed on a regular basis by their supervisors, staff should also have a regular, formal opportunity to provide feedback to their superiors.

    Pros

    -can move up/down/left/right within the ranks if you put in your time and whine enough
    -if you are in the clique, it is nice and homey - fun place to work
    -helping people?
    -a lot of autonomy in how you exercise your clinical abilities
    -once upon a time it was a lovely place to work

    Cons

    -high turnover
    -systems choke out any glimmer of productive innovation or ideas for change that could improve things; in order to try new things you have to "go rogue" (I'm talking to you IT department...)
    -stifling old-school hierarchical management style, petty one-upsmanship, narcissistic executive level management
    -high degree of burnout
    -lack of regard to client needs, emphasis is solely on revenue and productivity targets - no matter what they say
    -way too many supervisors, directors, people who have tenure and you have no idea what they do there, but yet they make decisions that affect you, your program, your job
    -shared offices, space to meet with clients is limited
    -dangerous and unsafe neighborhood

    Advice to Management

    Let site program supervisors run their own show. Too much variability in demographics and site resources to make "one size fits all" generalized policies. At the same time, the inconsistencies in resources are unfair and make comparisons between sites unfair as well.
    Allow counselors to work from home and have flexible schedules if they are getting their work done. The increased stringency on in and out hours, fixation on dollars per client, and inability to have a part time work schedule is a detriment to a role that is so highly energy depleting and mentally draining. Good people will always leave in this type of setting - the work is unsustainable for extended periods of time without personal consequences or callousness setting in.

    Pros

    Fun work environment and great benefits package. Room for growth and a lot of agency wide projects to actively participate and gain versatile business experiencw from all involved.

    Cons

    Managers show too much favoritism and do it publicly.

    Advice to Management

    Management needs more training to be better equipped to handle employee matters.
