    Pros

Competitive salary, great benefits, free opera tickets and the opportunity to meet many interesting people. Many of the administrative staff are performers in another life.

    Cons

The overriding principle of working at the Met is don't make a mistake. You don't play to win. You play not to lose. This attitude kills innovation and creativity. All the creativity happens on stage. Administration is still functioning much as it did in the 1970s. People live in fear of their coworkers and supervisors. Everyone is waiting for an opportunity to capitalize on your mistake. People are more concerned with their personal advancement than with quality work or advancing the mission of the organization.

    Pros

The management staff are great people, and overall create a very warm environment. You get to hear every performance you work during.

    Cons

Customers are frequently rude, and show crowds create temporary high intensity work environment. Upper management, although not worked with daily for most store staff, are inconsiderate.
