Not for the highly skilled or educated
Feb 2, 2019 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
If you can withstand the below average pay scale for your education/skill level and accept that poorly educated union clerks/personnel get paid substantially more than the attorneys, managers, even some assistant directors - then you will be able to enjoy the retirement benefit package. The active benefits are generous as well.
Cons
Programs and business mindset are antiquated. Old railroad mentality very much present. Little to no room for advancement unless you “in” with the right group. Inequitable benefits and pay in comparison to other agencies within the MTA not to mention other employers. While they will speak on “people first,” this is for the public and their perception. There is no real concern about employees, they continue to add obligations and responsibilities without any concern for work life balance -ie) STAR program the recently implemented Mandatory volunteer program forcing employees to change their schedules and be placed in remote locations with no security or facilities - no concern for parents with children and their schedules or what risks their are to employees who are FORCED to get home at all hours of the night. I can continue but I won’t - please understand this is just the icing on the cake.

Pros
Can't say there are any pros only that long as you mind your b and try not to get into any problems with the passengers and don't wreck the the bus u might can keep your job.
Cons
Pay is not conpetitive with other bus company's and really not enough for what and where we drive! Too many ways the company trys to fire you. The company never has your back on any thing.

Pros
Union is the only saving grace. Benefits are good. Pay is good for someone without college better than a lot of jobs that require college.
Cons
No work life balance. Changing schedule every three months. Safety isn’t guaranteed. Management and organization constantly trying to fire you so they don’t have to pay your pensionent and organization constantly trying to fire you so they don’t have to pay your pensionent and organization constantly trying to fire you so they don’t have to pay your pension. If you get sick or family member sick or you have an incident in your life they have zero compassion and will try to take your job away .

Pros
There are no pros of working at MTA Audit specifically, apply to other departments as they are much less toxic and knowledgeable.
Cons
You will receive the lowest pay imaginable to deal with the most feral and unhinged management.

Pros
They pay was competitive and the team environment was worth working there for quite some time.
Cons
The higher management and superintendents were not open to change. Change for the better that is. The workload sometimes became too overwhelming

Great place to start or finish your career...but those middle years can be a bit of a problem.

Excellent benefits (medical, vision, dental, flexible spending, sick/vacation time, FREE METROCARDS!) Salary increments between levels are significant (>10%) Friendly competitive environment (not cutthroat, just enough to motivate you) Knowledgeable, helpful management Short hours Tuition reimbursement High level of job satisfaction
Cons
Current hiring freeze makes it difficult to advance Upper management makes decisions that most often are not based on reality Serious gap in pay between upper management ($100K+) and analysts ($50k) Classic case of 'It's not what you know, but who you know' to further your career

Pros
Good pay and depending on the position you are likely to be either working a lot or not working at all. If you are lucky you will get a good boss that lets you study when there is no work to do. There are lots of auxiliary resources a large like this can give in terms of certification.
Cons
The department that I worked for was very against training me in any meaningful way. Honestly, it was the semester I had the best grades since I was able to study on the job, however, I wouldn't say it was the best source of any valuable experience.

Pros
There are absolutely no pros for working in MTA Audit Services. However, there are pros to working within the organization including the medical benefits and free transportation.
Cons
1) Management is untrained and unprofessional. Yelling, threats, lies, favoritism...you will experience it all! TOXICITY at its finest! 2) The pay is embarrassing. You will make the minimum on the pay scale listed on the job description. The pay scale is solely to fool outside applicants into thinking they have a chance to make more money. 3) Promotions are not common. So most of the Auditors and Senior Auditors are overqualified for the position they are in and therefore severely underpaid.
