I worked at Metropolitan Water District of Southern California

    Pros

This is a great company to work for! Whether you're in engineering, finance, legal or HR, this is a great company for you. -Top pay in any position -Healthcare (medical, vision, dental) -Pension plan -401k matching -Cafeteria on site -Transportation subsidy -Central location in Downtown LA -Friendly people all around

    Cons

For most of the people who interned here, working full-time at MWD is the goal. A lot of former interns apply for full-time positions but don't get in. However, that is a chance for you to turn this into a positive thing. Use your MWD internship to land yourself a job elsewhere and gain the experience that MWD needs/requires of the position you want.

I worked at Metropolitan Water District of Southern California for less than a year

    Pros

Opportunity to work along a civil engineering wonder, The Colorado River Aqueduct. Great people and enjoyable work environment. Learn new skills. Variety of job tasks. Safety is held paramount. 4 day week (every other weekend is 4 days)

    Cons

Hot temperatures during Summer. Most work consisted of manual labor related to maintenance such as pulling weeds and trimming trees. Remote location unless you happen to live near Lake Havasu. Temporary. Does not guarantee a future full-time position.
