I worked at Metters Industries full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you work hard and do your job, you'll do fine here. If you're lazy and just looking for a resting spot, this is not the place for you. Pay is commensurate with your responsibilities. There's always some unhappy and dissatisfied employees who will never make it. It's what you make it! I enjoyed working at Metters for almost 20 years.

    Cons

    No 401K, lots of work.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your good employees, and boot out the bums!

I worked at Metters Industries full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A few good worker-bees, one interesting program

    Cons

Terrible Management, Nepotism, Constant Money Problems, Vendors never paid, Inexperienced Leadership, Minimal backlog, Tiny customer base, Bad customer relationships

    Advice to Management

Leave and bring in people who know what they are doing. You don't know engineering, manufacturing, or program management.

I worked at Metters Industries full-time

    Pros

The work with the customer was good.

    Cons

Recognition/rewards and pay raises for employees is non-existent. Customer relationship management and management of subcontractors was not good - ruined a good thing with the customer.

    Advice to Management

Develop processes and stick to them. Recognize and reward your best people.

I have been working at Metters Industries full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Mediocre company. Not awesome not horrible. Your mileage may vary. Mine was decent, my coworkers was horrible.

    Cons

Sub Contractor work. Depending on the contract there may be no room for promotions or Raises.
Current contract is a toxic environment. All the good employees quickly leave for better jobs.

    Advice to Management

Stop worrying only on the bottom line and worry more about what you can do to retain your employees. Your employees are the ones making the company money treat them as such.

    Pros

When a company treats all employees so badly you tend to bond well with other employees.

    Cons

The day before payday was always stressful as you are always amazed that this company can make payroll. There must be some "creative" accounting going on at Metters are they are so deep in dept it's amazing the doors are still open. You better get your money coming in the door as they don't have a pay increase program, not even "cost of living".

    Advice to Management

    Shut down or sell.....

I have been working at Metters Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers and the work environment are awesome. PTO accumulates at a good pace. Easy work/life balance. Flexible work schedule. Easy and interesting work. The company is turning around from old management and moving forward. There is a-lot to come from Metters at this point in time. Forward outlook looks very promising towards developing it into a very profitable company. Management is very hands off and you aren't micro-managed.

    Cons

No pay raises in 3 years, no 401k, and high insurance rates. Management segregates themselves from everyone else. Network failures and IT issues hinder work progress. Starting pay for some is a slap in the face. Employee appreciation is slim to none.

    Advice to Management

Hire employees at a reasonable average pay. All the good help is leaving because there are no raises and no reasonable benefits.

    Cons

management in clueless and think they are still in the military

    Advice to Management

learn to manage, supervise, and mentor instead of continuous demanding last minute reports where the data has been sent on multiple occassions

    Pros

Despite the cons I'm listing below, the senior management are actually very nice people. The problem was that they were nice AND misguided and clueless on how to run a business.
Very competent and helpful HR department.
The team with which I worked were amazing; however, one by one, like myself, they all left because of the gross mismanagement up top.

    Cons

No respect for employees' time nor their needs for a work/life balance.
People who were promoted were often those who were good at saying yes to ridiculous demands of the senior management.
The corporate philosophy for management is outdated even by 1990s standards.
Expect micromanagement even at the highest level.
The CEO is very old and out of touch about everything from corporate culture, technology and even political correctness.

    Advice to Management

Get with the times. Value intelligence and work ethnic, instead of agreeability.
