I have been working at Miami Children's Health System full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some room for short term IT growth and development, but not for settling in for the long term. Parking space is good but far below what it used to be.

    Cons

No room for advancement or promotions in the IT department. Too many politics, cliques, and silo’d behaviors. Impossible to cross from service desk/desktop to network support positions 99% of the time. There are no women at all in the service desk/desktop support department.

    Advice to Management

Dispense with the politics and “us versus them” mentality. Stop the fear fueled decision making, because when you’re out, you’ll be out of a job anyways.
