I have been working at Michael Bailey Associates full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company footprint is very small on a day to day basis: once you are given an assignment, you will only meet your field manager every once in a while. Their margin profit is way below that of other companies, which results in a better salary for the contractor. Also, there is no pension plan blocking your money, which I prefer: I can manage it as I want.

    Cons

Sometimes they ask for a too low target rate to the client (In my case is ~12% below the most frequent target rate). Because their overhead is smaller, one still makes a good salary but... yeah, having a target rate similar to the colleagues would have been awesome. There are no permanent contracts, and all contractor contracts are tied to the contract between MBA and the client. However, they try to get you a new assignment when your contract is terminated.

    Advice to Management

Make better assessment of salaries and candidates, and target rates closer to the market for that company. For the rest, the company is very OK.

I worked at Michael Bailey Associates full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Clicky old boys club, little training provided, no career progression, do not value employees or customers, rip off contractors, greedy, unethical and creepy CEO.

I wouldn't recommend MBA to any potential employees or customers. Unprofessional outfit.

    Cons

The worst company I have worked for

I worked at Michael Bailey Associates full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Location is good. Central Zurich. Easy to reach. Location doesn't make companies successful! If you had interviews I would recommend yourself to ask to meet the team before it's too late!

    Cons

Companies without any structure, doesn't provide training. Commission scheme is really low. Office is really outdated. I wouldn't advice joining.

    Advice to Management

Lack of ambition and strategy. Training and motivation is key in recruitment and this doesn't apply, which is why everyone wants to leave.

I have been working at Michael Bailey Associates full-time

    Pros

The location is not bad. It's in a good spot to go for after-work drinks except no one does that anyway because it's so cliquey everyone probably hates each other.

    Cons

Very unprofessional and unethical practices including gender discrimination in the office. Hard-working employees who don't don't play the right political games but just want to do their job are treated like disposable resources and the results of all their effort are given to someone else. Standard working practices that are normal at other recruitment companies do not exist here and thinking outside the box or trying to improve processes is just not the done thing. Wouldn't recommend Michael Bailey Associates to anyone.

    Advice to Management

Be less evil, be more human.
