I have been working at Michaels Stores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a straight forward easy job and since you work early mornings you have the whole day.

    Cons

They don't have hours to give anyone. You work 2 days and only 4 hour shifts. You have to get up early to be there at 3am. It's not worth it. No one can make a living or even enough to help them with those kind of hours.

    Advice to Management

Figure out how to employ people for more than 8-10 hours a week. 4 hour shifts 2 times a week isn't something a single person can live on and no one will stay.

I have been working at Michaels Stores part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

We get paid a little bit more than minimum wage, and we have very flexible schedules. Great for someone in school.

    Cons

Barely any hours when the holiday season is over.

    Advice to Management

Don't let the whole store rest on a CEM's shoulders. Maybe there should be a step between Sales Associate and Customer Experience Manager. Maybe an assistant manager would help the dynamic of the stores.

I have been working at Michaels Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is not bad. Getting to interact with people is fun

    Cons

Upper management is a joke, they play favorites with certain employee's. There is absolutely no training what so ever for any position.

    Advice to Management

Train your employee's, then you won't feel so inclined to write them up if they make a mistake. Writing people up seems to be the answer for everything. I believe training your employees, along with positive reinforcement is a good idea. Just saying.
