Very good hardworking people at Michels.

I have been working at Michels full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There are lots of perks and benefits that come with being an employee at Michels. They exceed expectations with their benefit packages and additional perks for long term employees. They provide you with all of the software and hardware to be productive in today's society. They also provide annual training workshops for employees that show the desire to learn additional responsibilities.

    Cons

They are based out of Brownsville, WI so all of the Human Resources, Legal, Tax, IT, etc. professionals are required to be at the home base. They use GPS tracking and speedometers in every company owned vehicle. Work life balance is office to office.

    Advice to Management

Keep growing your young core professionals and transition into moving them into leadership roles.

I worked at Michels full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Health Insurance, company vehicle, some training opportunities, co-workers are great people.

    Cons

Company expects more than they compensate, little to no pay increases, no work life balance, high turnover, management is often in their position because of who they know versus their knowledge and ability to manage. Management shoots from the hip, need to know and understand the department and jobs they are managing.

    Advice to Management

Put people in management positions that know how to manage.

I worked at Michels full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Good insurance and PTO policy

    Cons

If you are a “yes man/woman”, this is the place for you. If you are a self starter that isn’t afraid to challenge management, stay away. The current management is more concerned with protecting their jobs than what’s best for the company. Too bad. I worked at Michels full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Large Company with a lot of resources. Training opportunities are there Opportunities to work on extremely unique projects Some divisions are extremely well managed and organized

    Cons

Some divisions are not run the way they should be. You are just a number. A lot of chiefs compared to Indians Change comes slowly

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees as they want to help make their division and Michels a success. The biggest downfall is upper management only talking to upper management and new/opposing ideas are not welcome.
