    Doesn't Recommend

I have been working at Michigan Medicine full-time

    Pros

Great health insurance. Used to have 2 for 1 match for retirement.

    Cons

Retirement match has been ended due to Covid 19 and there will be no merit raises for at least a year. Employees must pay to park-- even when they have to take a crowded shuttle bus from employee parking lot, parking is still not free. Employees are just numbers and viewed as dispensable. Salaries are low compared to competitors, which used to be balanced by excellent benefits, but benefits are not superior anymore.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Michigan Medicine full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Nice hospital to work for. I enjoyed the academic environment. Many learning opportunities. A wide variety of patients.

    Cons

However, PAs are treated poorly. We trail behind NP with regards to salary, benefits, and advancement. You have to be ready to defend yourself. Currently, there is no union or anyone else who will represent you in disputes. You truly are an at-will employee. PAs are upset with management. Currently trying to organize a union.
