I have been working at Microsoft (Less than a year)

    Pros

Shuttles and busses make commuting easy, great healthy food options at super low prices at many cafeterias or the Commons, relaxed atmosphere.

    Cons

On board process needs streamlining, but that didn't change my opinion of MS because all large organizations have problems. Could pair down MSW and improve employee handbook.

    Advice to Management

Tighten up on board process. Was there 4 days but couldn't do anything requiring network access or system access. It was like being paid to sit (didnt mind but seems like a waste of human and $ resources.

    Pros

Free Beverages, xbox 360, Causal dress in workplace

    Cons

Backstabbing People . Everyone is out for themselves. Many individuals are not qualified to do the jobs they are preforming. Work life balance does not apply to everyone.

    I worked at Microsoft

    Pros

I really enjoyed the opportunity to work for a company that has all the technological tools needed to do my job.

    Cons

Sad to say, but management really has no idea of what their possitions are for. All that they care is about to protect their paychecks and be in good standing with Human Resoruses, wich is a department that, as the employee does not sings their checks, the "HR" department will team up with management to ensure that employees that have an opinion are silenced "legally"

    Advice to Management

Senior management needs to bring the passion for their jobs, the passion for technology, the passion that made this company a great company, the passion that is lost or replaced by the passion for promotions, wasteful spending, higher commision, lack of accountability, and lack of vission.
