I have been working at Microsoft full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Benefits. Microsoft really gives its employees the ability to succeed, be healthy, and help the world. Also lots of great career path opportunities if you're willing to move to the west coast. Full of smart people that are all willing to help out and try the companies "dogfood" as they call it. Everybody seems to want to always try new software and technologies and really win in everything they do.

    Cons

Though the company is doing a lot to make it more competitive in cloud and mobile spaces, and feel more like a startup with hackathons and social competitions it is still a big company and it can still take a long time to figure out who is the correct contact to help you get something done or a port opened in a firewall. Also the culture of "dogfooding" means that everybody pretty much always wants to use only Microsoft...

    Advice to Management

Keep up the trajectory of becoming more cloud and mobile first and empowering engineers to get things done. Try to spread some of the good engineering jobs to other locations.
