I worked at Microsoft part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Health Benefits , Work-life balance, discounts, perks for being part of the company , learning so much about new amazing products

    Cons

The Danbury Ct Store doesn't have a great development plan for the employees. The only advice I received was perfect your role . no advice on other positions opening and how to apply or be considered for other positions.

    Advice to Management

Work on the development plan for your employees so they want to stay for more then a couple years. or its just another job in there lives. since i left 7 other employees left doesn't that say something about the store?

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, unlimited learning opportunity, remote working

    Cons

Pace of work often leaves little work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

Look at separating out pre-sales and delivery teams. Having the same team deliver both most often leads to slighting the paying customer to meet the demands of sales delivery cycles.

I worked at Microsoft full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great facilities, benefits, cafe's. You get to work with a lot of talented senior engineers who have a ton of experience and you get to learn a lot from them. Though it varies with teams, overall I had a good work life balance.

    Cons

Pretty much top down in my experience. Though they are making a lot of changes they always seem to play catch up.

    Advice to Management

Encourage bottom up ideas. Sometime the best ideas come from the new young talent. There needs to be a better system to support entrepreneurial projects.
