    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Microsoft for more than 5 years

    Pros

Worked briefly for World Wide SMSG Services, CFPA/Data management team. Very archaic backward looking stuck in time managers. People who have accepted their fate or join as vendors stay, others will run away as fast.

    Cons

wierd teams, certain type of people stay but with little room for career progression. Managers usually hire their best pals/or vendors

I have been working at Microsoft

    Pros

Ability to Impact Feel empowered Strategic thinking Ability to build teams Compensation

    Cons

Barriers to get to next level/Director Work-life balance lack of coaching/guidance to get to next level Fewer opportunities to advance in Individual contributor role Lateral transfers even when you qualify for higher roles

    Advice to Management

Create more opportunities for individuals with good track record to promote to Director level. Seems like there is a"ceiling" and people get frustrated at this level as they spend a lot of time at this level. Microsoft looses good talent due to this issue as people switch employers.
