I worked at Microsoft part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great, fun job if you love technology. Never a day in which I felt work was work. Managers were open and had a open door policy. Benefits were best I'd had.

    Cons

Separation within employees due to background accessibility.

    Advice to Management

Find out and end all internal struggles between coworkers

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of visibility and opportunities for those in the MACH (academy of college hires) program. Amazing benefits and salary considering they are hiring fresh grads with minimal to no experience.

    Cons

Such a big company you can feel lost and take some time to ramp up and take ownership of your career. Also as any tech industry severe lack of female leadership in IT management/product developer roles

    Advice to Management

Make sure at least with the college hires you pay attention to how you can make the experience better for minorities/women/veterans/anyone outside of heterosexual white male identity

I worked at Microsoft (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Senior Leadership Painting refreshing new vision and strategy
    Benefits
    Opportunities Internally

    Cons

    Way too inwardly focused

Large Enterprise Selling Segment Seriously Broken
Working to win versus working to change lives and business for the betterment of mankind
Talent level in Sales has dropped massively due to comp and management issues
Scorecards far too tactical and driving the wrong behaviors - GM's gaming the system
Dynamics Teams never should have been mainstreamed. Different business and different type rep needed to articulate vision. SFDC still winning all strategic deals unless MSFT buys the deal!
    Middle Management under qualified

    Advice to Management

    EPG needs massive rebuild.
Place focus on customer and not managing ones own career each day
    Have courage
    Reward courageous thinkers
Work out yesMen/Women - Way too many of these.
Break out teh Dynamics business so they can be more Agile and Strategic
