I worked at Microsoft as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

You will be challenged every day you work there. You get to work with some of the best software people in the business.

    Cons

The hyper-competitiveness can chew people up. The interdepartmental competitiveness can be detrimental to effectiveness.

    Advice to Management

Emphasize cooperation to a larger extent. Competition is great, but it shouldn't be end-all be-all of the experience.

  2. "No intellectual work"
