I have been working at Microsoft full-time for more than 4 years
Pros
The company is a dream to work for. Good pay and excellent benefits. Great team members and management is almost consistently great.
Cons
Usually a small work space for technicians to work in, although they provide all the tools you can need and more. Customer base varies from state demographic, etc.
Advice to Management
Please listen a little closer on what employees future goals are, and instead of in one ear out the other, help us proactive on advancing with this amazing company.

I have been working at Microsoft full-time for more than 6 years
Pros
Satya Nadella has really changed the company for the better since taking over as CEO. The vast majority of employees now feel proud to work for Microsoft compared to the Ballmer era. Microsoft has great benefits (PTO, 401k match, new caregiver benefit, reimbursement for up to $800 in physical fitness, etc.) and flexible work arrangements. Work can be very rewarding and you have the ability to make a real impact on...

Limited Career Advancement Opportunities For Some People- If you don't live in WA state or nearby one of Microsoft's campuses, career advancement is very tough unless you want to stay in a sales-oriented or 90%-travel position. Difficult and Time Consuming to Move Around in the Company: The internal interview process to move into a new role or organization within the company is very slow (can take weeks or months),...

Perhaps consider remote workers as a diversity classification or category that you strongly suggest Redmond-based managers to consider when hiring. So many talented people cannot move to WA and find themselves frustrated at the lack of opportunities available in their own state. Keep up the great work in changing the company's culture - love the employee engagement and benefits initiatives.

I have been working at Microsoft
Pros
i love the company though! Microsoft as a company has a great strategy. I will be sorry to leave.
Cons
My specific role is difficult in that the Denver EPG culture is terrible.
I worked at Microsoft for more than a year
Pros
As an IT professional I have had my share of grief and frustrations while deploying Microsoft products so it was nice to have the opportunity to streamline the process. Also, the pay and working remotely was a big plus.
Cons
Department heads and managers seem to work very hard and convoluting the process.
Advice to Management
Don't reply on Visual Studio/BI information as sole metric for determining employee performance.

I have been working at Microsoft full-time for more than 6 years
Pros
I love working for Microsoft because of the people that I work with inside of the company and those who I have the opportunity to interact with outside of the organization.
Cons
I don't enjoy the push to become more diverse as an organization for the sake of diversity. I think the organization should seek the most qualified individual for specific roles and jobs. If we have the opportunity to bring in personnel that are experienced and qualified and also represent diverse groups, then all the better for groups and the organization as a whole.
I have been working at Microsoft part-time for more than a year
Pros
best company in the world.
Cons
there are absolutely none ☺
I worked at Microsoft for more than 20 years
Pros
Working at Microsoft was the best professional experience of my life, really enjoyed my time there.
Cons
1. Interview processes are no fun, mean spirited, they string second place candidates along needlessly. 2. Once in a certain level - you're stuck - no room for advancement.
Advice to Management
Remove the L65 Glass Ceiling.
I have been working at Microsoft full-time for more than 2 years
Pros
Excellent benefits, stock purchase options, co-workers, customers
Cons
Inconsistent hours (schedule), very difficult to grow with the company, specialty stores are looked down on, bonus scale for specialty vs full line is bogus,
Advice to Management
Managers are fine. It's corporate that is disconnected from the store. The looks of our store are not a good representation of Microsoft as a company. I think there could be some money invested into upgrading the older specialty locations so that we can better serve our customers.
