Great experience to learn more about Microsoft tech and inside information about upcoming products and events which you can be apart of which can lead to many different opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Favoritism needs to stop and personal preference when choosing promotion candidates is obviously noticeable. ( Was Promoted )

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Benefits, Outstanding Executive Leadership Culture #HitRefresh and Growth Mindset are affectively executed at that level. Dynamic and full of opportunities to grow in knowledge, accountabilities and career.

    Cons

Corporate politics from previous Eras are still around. Some mid-management (Directors and Group Managers) has difficulties dealing with change and effective transformation. Poor emotional intelligence. Sharing information, opportunities with your peers to grow great ideas is not in everyone's agenda. Non health competition may be an obstacle to execute great ideas and make things happen.

    Advice to Management

Emotional Intelligence, authentic grow mindset, Directors and Group Managers across Operations, Sales, Marketing to eliminate corporate politics. Promote healthy networking and cross-group collaboration.

I worked at Microsoft full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Able to be a self start, not micromanaged. Best job ever. I loved the people and especially my work as a sSr User Experience evangelist.i even loved my managers in my DX role.

    Cons

The company is so big that it is hard to network with other UX professionals and to get to know the different positions available to me or how I might find that. Its very difficult to find the correct job posting. I would prefer people reach out to me.

    Advice to Management

In my consulting role my first manager was awesome. She really helped in anyway she could. The one that replaced her had a unique way and was not a subject matter expert as the people under him. In my next role in DX (a sales division) I loved all my managers but there were a lot. I think I had 4 in 4 years

    Pros

Competitive compensation and generous benefits in the industry, cool products and smart people around, challenging work and rewarding experiences.

    Cons

I end up reporting to very bad manager that surprisingly does not represent MS values and ruined the work experience, make sure you meet your manager and you are comfortable with him/her.

    Advice to Management

Cloud is the future and we re taking the right decisions to make sure we have a competitive advantage, laser focus on innovation. HR should have a more prominent role supporting employees.
