    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Microsoft full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Diverse and vast opportunities for growth. Good benefits.

    Cons

Too large, too many chefs and menus in the kitchen.

    Advice to Management

Continue streamlining middle management layers - Sr. Manager/Director Levels - too many talkers, not doers.

I worked at Microsoft for less than a year

    Pros

    - High pay for interns - Fruits/snacks/beer/pop - Extremely talented full time coworkers that mentored me - Looks great on resume

    Cons

    - Asking questions was extremely discouraged - Office politics, which is usual but it affected interns as well and that was an odd experience - Unreasonable amount of expectations from interns - Management did not know how to handle or mentor a co op's career growth, if you looked overwhelmed they advised you give up software development as a career - Most people had an extremely high ego - People were getting laid...

    Advice to Management

    - Train managers on handling employees and not just be the point of contact for requirements - Create some incentive for co ops to return after full time - Be more transparent if you are not happy with an employee instead of holding it back until last minute review time

I worked at Microsoft full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great company/environment when I started, very collaborative and partner/customer focused.

    Cons

Too much focus on internal stakeholders.

    Advice to Management

Focus on employees, customers and partners. These are what makes Microsoft successful; treat them as your customers.
