I have been working at Microsoft for more than a year

    Pros

Microsoft is a great company to start your IT career and grow it. You have the chance to work with first class talents; the latest MS technology and tools and optimized working process. It has minimum office political environment.

    Cons

A lot of time you may feel peer pressure because the company has attracted many talented workers around the world. It does have work stress and deadline to finish your work. You won't have much ramp up time when entering a new project, this could be a quite challenging when each project has its own process and using different technology.

  4. "Benefits and company are great, but the experience can be highly dependent on the team and manager you work for."

I have been working at Microsoft full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Name recognition, compensation, work-life balance and flexibility, benefits, potential to work with great teams and manager, ability to move within the company, career opportunities,

    Cons

Large company may not be as agile, potential negative public perception of Microsoft, bad teams and managers can have a strong negative impact on career and general experience. Fair amount of variability between good and bad teams.

    Advice to Management

Could do more to make employees feel valued and motivate to contribute. Seek to hire managers for manager roles, not simply promoting talented individuals who might not be good manager material.
