    Pros

I worked at Microsoft as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits. Great coworkers. Incredible access to resources. Beautiful campus.

    Cons

Sometimes feels slow and unresponsive. They need to give up on the phone thing, for example.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to what the market wants. Their is a lot of potential for Microsoft to innovate but too often they miss the boat.

    Pros

I get to work with intelligent and supportive teammates every day.
    Amazing facilities/gorgeous landscaped HQ.
Work/life balance is very good for most SWE Interns I know.
    Free drinks
They bring in good musicians to play over lunch at the main cafeteria.
Performance feedback is not only focused on individual contribution, but also how well you work with others. I've been told this really improves the company culture, especially on the main campus.
They make an honest effort to give interns projects that are interesting and within the scope of a summer.
Top notch health insurance, even for interns.

    Cons

The culture of different teams can vary (I have heard good and bad from other interns.)
Microsoft always manages to stay in the news with the latest PR gaffe (honestly more amusing than upsetting to most employees.)

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing to attract top university talent. Continue to create an open dialogue within the company.

I worked at Microsoft as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Microsoft is filled with intelligent employees. Satya Nadella seems to have instilled a new vibrancy and openness to the culture, which should pay dividends for years to come. Benefitsare generous, the campus is beautiful, and the compensation was very fair. In HR, management seemed very competent and interested in their subordinates' success.

    Cons

The company is very large, so it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. The culture under Steve Ballmer did not seem particularly open or transparent and many of the old-guard managers remain. The company also seems to reorganize every two to three years, which I doubt is conducive to productivity or innovation.

    Advice to Management

If you want to compete in today's competitive landscape, the consumer has to come first. All too often, engineers, sales people, and narrowly focused managers prioritize short-term results over long-term success by overlooking the customer and just attempting to shove products down consumers' throats.

I have been working at Microsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great way to develop skills, easy to move around the company to a team with a micro-culture that fits you, great benefits, brilliant minds, great work life balance, great benefits

    Cons

Some hold over from outdated corporate practices which are mainly getting better. Some of the buildings are outdated.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing, but avoid old corporate stigmas. Invest in keeping campus up to date.

    Pros

    * Great culture and learning experience I have had so far in an internship
    * Learn directly from people at the forefront of technology (e.g. worked alongside a brilliant Partner Architect and only this motivated me even more)
    * Great career opportunities and prospects
    * Good benefits and SeaTac area is one of the greatest in summer with lots to do.

    Cons

    * Depending on the project, some extra work than regular hours might be required, but besides that nothing else to complain.

I worked at Microsoft as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Given a chance to develop a Mobile App from scratch and host it in Microsoft store.
    - Good Remuneration
    - Perfect environment to work

    Cons

    - Since a summer Internship, there was pressure to complete the entire product within eight weeks and this disturbed a work-life balance a bit.
