I worked at Microsoft as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to live in Seattle during the most beautiful months of the year. You get to exposure to a wide variety of business teams within Microsoft. The entire Microsoft intern experience is stellar, and it is very easy to quickly make friends with similar interests. The work is challenging, so you will push yourself to grow your skills. Also, the intern concert/experience is one of the coolest events that I have been to in my entire life.

    Cons

You can start to feel trapped inside of the Redmond/Microsoft bubble. Just make sure to get out and explore Seattle and the surrounding areas.

    Advice to Management

Find candidates with a genuine interest in living in the pacific northwest. While it is perfect and sunny during the summer, that is not the case the other nine months of the year.

I worked at Microsoft as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Seriously one of the most underrated places to work - Microsoft has a reputation for not being as prestigious amongst the tech companies, but wow, I really felt my work made an impact. Contrary to most other companies, interns directly work on shipped products. When you leave, your work will still be relevant and won't be buried under some stack never to seen again.

There's free gym membership, an awesome intern gift (SurfaceBooks this year!) and tons of interesting intern events/talks/etc.

    Cons

The culture of the company is kind of inconsistent - some teams are amazing while others are terrible. There's no free food.

I worked at Microsoft as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everything good about a giant corperation. There are standard procedures for everything. The atomosphere and work experience is top of the world, where you can get your hands on Microsoft's most cutting edge technonlogy, and the managers are not very pushy(however this can really depend). Benefits and allowances are also pluses

Working as a gear like all other giant operations, can be boring sometimes
