I worked at Microsoft part-time for less than a year

    Pros

-store managers care about their employees, customers, and company image. They look after their employees and what’s best for them, and not just restricted to company-related issues. They really develop their community. -Fantastic benefits and bonuses through microsoft -State of the art tech and laptops on display in the stores -Great service bar with knowledgeable staff -Great product advisors with knowledge of the current market -Most of the team is willing to teach, share knowledge, and get new employees up to speed fast.

    Cons

-Some managers are clearly placed through nepotism/politics (like most of retail) and don’t do a great job, but the heart is still there. -“big company” politics are still very much front and center, sometimes the managers can only do so much to support the store and their team without being overruled by corporate. -The best of the best of...a retail job.

I have been working at Microsoft part-time for more than a year

    Pros

I really enjoyed the autonomy to lead motions, work with diverse teams internally and externally.

    Cons

It’s a very political culture in Microsoft Canada. The management doesn’t provide support. Some people will go to the ends to sabotage & diminish your work. It’s a heavy blame culture.
